I have been reading on here quite a bit and I think I have too much information and don't know where to go with it. I fixed my Samsung monitor that kept powering off (Capxon troubles), so I'm not too new at this. Here's my problem. I turned on the tv and had no pic and no sound. I had lines going down the left side, but when I turn the tv off and on, it goes away. I reseated all the ribbon cables but it still does it after sitting for a while. Only the backlight on the panel is on when I turn the tv on (That's all I ever got, tv was given to me broken). I have no picture and no sound. I did find one bulged cap on the power supply. I haven't changed all the caps due to them being Capxon but I will. The power out seems to be ok after changing the cap. The T-Con fuse is fine. The LM1117DG center pin is gone on the T-Con and it looks like it was burnt off actually. I think I have a bad T-Con but I have no sound on any input. Don't know where to go next. Any ideas?

Re: Samsung LN-S3241D No Picture
I saw this post here. They all pointed to the T-Con. But here's what I have.
The T-Con is V320B1-L01-C or 35-D003848. The PSU is full of Capxon capacitors.

I just ordered all new caps. I want to replace those first before I order a T-Con. I'm hoping it's not the main board. If it is then it's not worth fixing.Last edited by dcapper; 12-17-2013, 01:33 AM.Comment

Re: Samsung LN-S3241D No Picture
I appreciate the help. Did you get a chance to look at that other thread? Sounds like my problem, but who knows. T-Con's are only 30 bucks. I'd like to go with that board before wasting money on the main board. I ordered 105 degree caps to replace the Capxon's already.Comment

Re: Samsung LN-S3241D No Picture
Good news. I hooked up a coax cable (audio, no video), component xbox (audio, no video), hdmi xbox (audio, no video), composite xbox (audio, no video). One thing good about the xbox is that it sits dormant until it sees the input from the tv. When I scrolled through the inputs with the buttons on the tv, the xbox kicked in when I found the right input. Voltage on the t-con board at F1 is 5.35 volts on both sides of the fuse. I am still going to replace the caps first though, just so I don't blow a new t-con with the old caps. So should we assume it's the t-con?Comment

Re: Samsung LN-S3241D No Picture
At first we talked about me not having sound, so I'm sure your diagnosis was correct. I have a dilemma with the t-com though. The board in the tv is a 35-D003848 or V320B1-L01-C but when I go to shopjimmy, the proper board is 35-D004737 or V320B1-C. I emailed the guy I got the tv from and he said it's never been in the shop. Is it possible it's just the board in the tv?Comment

by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

by JJAAMMThis was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.
Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode... -

i have a samsung lcd tv
it powers on with sound and backlight but no picture
all voltages from PS are good 12v 3.3v and 5v
whats odd is that at the tcon i tested voltage across the fuse on the tcon and i get 0v
i figured main board issue..so i ordered a used main board....when i put replacement main board in i still have same issue
no 12v at the tcon fuse
i disconnect the panel ribbon cables to rule out any panel issues and i still have no 12v at the tcon fuse
the odds of having 2... -
by DodgethisHello all,
This is my first post, but long term lurker on the form learning as much as possible about these TV's. I was given this TV as due to a power outage of constant On/off of power to TV. The TV originally would just click on and off (Typical Reboot Cycle). I opened the back of the TV, and troubleshooted by taking the 96 pin LVDS off one at a time to see if I had a picture on either side. I finally fixed the reboot cycle by finding the error on the left side of the screen off connector CN 1301, and the TV would stay on. Further troubleshooting led me to the driver boards where...5 Photos - Loading...
