This set works great with the exception of this vertical bar that's about the width of one of the driver chips. I used the scope and and schematics and determined that the driver in the flex cable is bad. Is this a common failure for these sets? Is the PDP compatible with other brands of plasma tvs?

It is rare in these sets.
How sure are you that the driver is dead? By far the most common problem is a loose driver connector.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

When I was working on it, I used the scope and was looking at the drive signal and it appeared to be working all the way thru the driver board. As I remember, there was just a buffer chip short of the driver.Originally posted by tom66 View PostComment
