I just picked up another lcd tv that has some issues. When I plug it in the red power LED comes on. When I hit the power button the LED turns blue and the screen looks like it tries to come on. Then the screen goes black like it shuts off but the LED is still blue. Is the LCD screen bad or is it an internal component that's bad?

Re: RCA 46LA45RQ has no picture
Try plugging in an audio source like HDMI and blindly flicking through inputs. Do you get sound? It's unlikely the LCD panel is bad. These sets have common issues with the blue poly capacitors near the inverter outputs going bad. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: RCA 46LA45RQ has no picture
If your set is like my 42la45rq, check the blue 15pf 6kv caps near the output from the PSU to the inverter.

Different type of capacitor, different fault modes. If you don't screw it up like in the example John posted, you're fine. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
Have a Samsung UN50NU7400 which shows a boot screen and a screen saver if left on long enough but no picture ?
Would a moving screen saver confirm that the panel is ok or it could still be a panel issue ? -
by aazjoI have a MBP A1502 (early 2015, 820-4924) with a screen that will not turn on. I have swapped screens with a cracked test screen and the computer boots and the cracked screen works for both backlight and image. The black/blank screen appears to do nothing.
I have collected resistant data from the cracked screen connector pins and submitted to OBData server:

by reformattJust had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".
It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...07-31-2025, 08:37 PM - Loading...
