Re: Philips 42PFL3704D/F7 Turns on Then Shuts Off
I'd be interested to know what the issue was as well. I have the same model (but looks like it may be a different serial number) with the same issues.

Re: Friends Sharp LC-32SH2OU Fades to White
Got the new T-Con board in last week and now the TV works beautifully. So is this a common issue with these boards? Should I order a couple extra just in case this one dies on me?

Re: Problems with Phillips 42PFL3704D/F7
There is a harness for that connector on my set. Trying to dig up the service manual to see what that connector does.
Looks like there are +24 volt and Ground connectors on it. Probably for more devices or whatever included with this TV.
CN1804 is part of the LCD Module Assembly PH CONNECTOR TOP 10P B10B-PH-KS(LF)(SN). Sounds pretty important...Last edited by Phydoux; 01-09-2016, 06:02 PM.

Re: Problems with Phillips 42PFL3704D/F7
Here's another question for you. I ordered a power supply board off eBay. When I received it I noticed that it was missing one of the connectors. The board I needed was aA91H9MIV. The one he sent was a A91H5MIV. He assured me that they are compatible. These are pictures of the differences between my board and the one he sent me.
The one he sent me doesn't have a CN1804 connector on it. Can I use this board without that connector?...Last edited by Phydoux; 01-09-2016, 05:18 PM.

Re: Friends Sharp LC-32SH2OU Fades to White
Must be a bad T-Con board. I checked all of the connections, turned the TV back on after I had it assembled and got the same results. Put the old T-Con board back in and it worked like it did before I switched the board. So it is a bad board.

Yeah, this was right from the get go. I will check the connections tomorrow but I am quite sure they're all tight.

Re: Problems with Phillips 42PFL3704D/F7
Well, they said they can't fix it. I don't know why. Maybe it's not a capacitor problem. I've looked all over and no one has them in stock. I found 2 on eBay for around $80 each. If I can get one of you guys to fix it I could pay toy what I would have had to pay Shop Jimmy which is $65. This is what needs repairs.

The TV Serial number first 3 digits is YA2.
Here's the problem.

Problems with Phillips 42PFL3704D/F7
So I've had this in my spare bedroom collecting dust. It had an issue with the not powering up. It started turning itself off and that became more frequent to the point where it didn't turn on at all. So I recently found a Power Supply board for it. Installed it and it's doing the same thing it was doing almost a year ago. It will stay on for about 2 - 3 minutes then it will restart. I'm guessing I got a bad power supply since now it comes on but only for a couple minutes.
I was looking at shopjimmy.com and noticed they do repair work on these boards. I really don't have the patience...

Re: Philips 42PFL3704D LCD no power
I have one of these in my spare bedroom. Comes on for a couple minutes then the TV restarts. I had a problem with it about 8 months ago where it wouldn't come on at all. Bought a power supply board for it and it worked fine for a few months and then it started doing what it's doing now. I bought the Jack Power board which has all of the peripheral jacks on it and that didn't seem to fix the issue. I'm thinking it's the main power board again.

Re: Friends Sharp LC-32SH2OU Fades to White
Found one on eBay for about 3x as much as that site you had the link to. I also found it on the TV. Wasn't too bad getting to it or getting it out. Looking at it I don't see anything that would indicate that anything is blown but I guess it's possible that static electricity or maybe a power surge did something to it.
So I will order the board and hope that it fixes the problem.

Re: Friends Sharp LC-32SH2OU Fades to White
Now... there does appear to be an Inverter Board that I'm not seeing on the diagrams in the manual...
Update: There is no reference to the inverter but I am seeing it on the left side under the LCD cover.Last edited by Phydoux; 12-23-2015, 11:39 AM.

Re: Friends Sharp LC-32SH2OU Fades to White
According to these photos there is no T-Con board on this unit. There's a Power PCB, a Scaler PCB (which is what I've already replaced), a Digital PCB which is mounted to the AV PCB and there's also a Remocon PCB. Is the Remocon PCB what you're referring to as the T-Con?...Last edited by Phydoux; 12-23-2015, 11:34 AM.

Re: Friends Sharp LC-32SH2OU Fades to White
So the scaler board does not appear to be the problem. Same symptom with the new board after about 2 minutes. Something new that I noticed. I had it hooked up to the dvr and when it started to fade I tried fast forwarding and I noticed that the picture was frozen while it was disappearing.
I've looked on eBay for the T-con board but what I'm seeing online is not what I'm seeing in my tv. Is this board underneath the other boards? Do I have to take the metal sheet off to get to it? Also, I see no reference to a t-con board...Last edited by Phydoux; 12-23-2015, 09:19 AM.

Re: Friends Sharp LC-32SH2OU Fades to White
I put the new (used) Scaler board in yesterday and everything seems to be OK. I haven't really tested the TV yet with a movie. Maybe I'll get around to that today or tomorrow. Seeing the "PLEASE WAIT" message was a huge relief!

Re: Friends Sharp LC-32SH2OU Fades to White
A quick glance over the boards this morning didn't reveal any popped caps or anything else out of the ordinary. I guess my next question would be should I buy a new T-Con board or could it be the video board?
I doubt it's the power supply. When I plug the TV in the power light is orange and when I turn it on the light turns green. I'm guessing that the power is correct. I'm just not getting a picture.
The screen lights up but it's black. Nothing else goes on with the screen. I'm thinking the lamps are OK too in...

Re: Friends Sharp LC-32SH2OU Fades to White
Tried turning the TV on this morning and all I get is a blank screen. The power light comes on when I turn the TV on, the screen lights up but stays black. There is no flashing code or anything to indicate what the problem might be. The power light just stays on green steady. When the TV is powered off the power LED turns orange as it has since I've been troubleshooting it. I don't even see the "PLEASE WAIT" message anymore like I saw the first couple times I turned it on.Last edited by Phydoux; 12-10-2015, 05:07 AM.
