SCEPTRE X42GV-KOMODO repair

The set has blinking red power LED. Load 5VSTBY using 6V lamp, lamp is going bright and dim. Heat up the startup/running cap (22uF 50V) C42 with hair dryer, the set starts right up. Check the capacitance, 21uF but the ESR is off the scale (>10 Ohms). Finished it up with new set of caps except the big one.

I was also able to simulate bad cap with high ESR by putting a 10 Ohms in series with the new cap, it starts blinking again.

Sometimes I have replaced bad startup cap which still had good ESR and capacitance, but found to have a few kohm resistance, too much to start PSU.
