    Panasonic TC-P54S1 Horizontal Black Lines

So my tv when black one day and the power light started blinking 6 or 7 times, I can't remember. So I did some research and found that it is most likely the SD and SU boards. So I replaced them. The tv turned on but now has black lines going across it? Could it be a bad A board. Any help is much appreciated!

Just a matter of getting SU and SD cables right. Unplug all orange ribbons on SU/SD, and very carefully seat them. They have two positions. One way is no good. The other gives a little, faint "click". You need the click to have the connector in the right position.

I thought that might be the cause so I have removed and replaced the cable several times, but I'll check again when I get home but listen for the "click"

They are very fiddly and difficult to get into position. I have had this problem many times previously after undoing those ribbons.

That worked. It took me taking it in and out a million times to find the way to get it to click it. Thanks for the help.

One other thing. While doing this I have noticed a humming coming from the power supply and SC board. Maybe it is just more noticeable now that the cover is off. But is that normal?

It's common with plasmas for a buzzing to be heard with the case removed - once the case is reinstalled it should stop buzzing.

So the black lines are gone, but I went to plug in a device and the HDMI ports aren't working. I have tested the device and HDMI cable on another device and they work. Do i have to change an setting to make the HDMI work on the tv? Or what ever surge that blew mu su and sd boards also blew the Hdmi?

Yes, it's more than likely if you had a power surge which damaged the SU/SD that the HDMI went along with it. You can first try a factory reset: hold MENU on set and press MENU on remote, then turn set off.
