Samsung PN50B400P3DX2A tries to turn on

I have a samsung plasma and it recently stopped turning on. When I plug it in it clicks, the power led comes on for a second or two then it blinks 5 times and then it repeats (tries to turnon then flashes 5 times). Im guessing its the internal power supply. Any ideas as to what else it could be? I've unplugged the tv for several days and tried it again and get the same thing.

If the Samsung plasmas are anything like my Samsung LCD it could be faulty capacitors on the power supply.

5 blinks is usually a short circuit.

disconnect the other boards 1 at a time until it stops flashing 5 times (make sure its powered off)

so disconnect one... switch set on and check for the blinks.... turn off and reconnect, disconnect next board and repeat... do this until you lose the 5 blinks.... that disconnected board is your problem

Ok, after pulling the connections one by one it seems that the board with the tuner on it is not working. I guess my next question is where can I find a replacement board? I've checked eBay and found one that looks exactly like mine but it is for an Emerson tv. I doubt this will work. Is there a place to buy these boards cheap?

As long as the part numbers are exactly the same, it should work for your panel

Some boards need setting up for different panels but can usually be done via service menus.

Just make sure the Part # is the same

last year i fixed one with it.
