Okay, I'm starting this thread in regards to fixing Philips series of LCD HDTVs that have power supply failures which seems to be a common thing.
I bought a few of the Philips LCD TVs and over time these issues have shown up. I tried to get pictures but they seem to blur when I get too close to the circuits so may need to find a better way to get the pictures.
On Philips 32PFL3504-- Fuse is blown on the power supply board. When I put a new one in and plug in the TV, there's a bright light and fuse immediately blows again.
On Philips 19PFL3504-- one day the Philips logo came on and then it turned off for good. It no longer powers up at all. Fuse is good so something else went bad.
On Philips 19PFL3403-- unit does not respond to remote nor keypad buttons every so often. If I unplug the TV and plug it back in after a few minutes, it does seem to respond to remote and buttons but if I leave it off but plugged in, it goes back into that state. It seems it has to be unplugged and plugged in again to make it respond to user. I bought a new motherboard (not power supply board) from Ebay and this one only responds to remote but not the keypad.
Any suggestions as to which caps need replacement? Someone told me it was the caps on the power supply board so I'm assuming he's right.
I'll try to get some pictures and part numbers posted for the above but for now for the 19PFL3403 which I have opened currently the part number for power supply is: 715T2906-4, main board is 715T2890-3 (WK: 822).
