Re: Apex ld3288m - No power, nothing
I know this solution won't apply to most people with this problem with this TV, but this is what worked for me.
My LD3288M would sometimes go on, but then when turned off, it would stay off. No power LED, no sound, no image on the screen, and no back light.
I saw it had a BGA chip on the main board. I did the heat gun on it up to 200 deg. C. There was no change in the problem behavior.
After about a week, I went back to take another look at it before it went to the recycler.
I disconnected the T-Con board and took an eraser on the connectors. I also saw the cable between the main board, and the T-Con was taped down at a tight position that seemed to create some stress at the connectors. I released the tape to give it a bit of slack, and when I put it back together, it worked. It hasn't had the power up issue for about 4 days now.
The only other thing that changed that I can think of is that we don't have the summer weather anymore, so perhaps the cooler air in the house helped. I didn't feel anything getting too warm before though.
I know this isn't a clear solution, but there have been stranger fixes to electronic equipment.Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.
