Re: EEFL tubes for 32 inch LG panel
Thanks for the reply, hope these pictures send I've not done that before, and sorry for the quality I hope it's good enough. Measurements I've taken length end to end is 75cm, diameter of the end cap is about 3mm and tube diameter about 2mm. Panel type is LC320W01 (SL)(A1) and is from a Logik TV (Vestel)
I damaged the tubes whilst trying to repair the inverter I fitted an incorrect value SM capacitor and caused arcing, the failed tubes now only light on the ends, about 6 have failed.

Re: EEFL tubes for 32 inch LG panel
I've succesfully replaced EEFL's with CCFL's. I just soldered the leads into the clips.

Re: EEFL tubes for 32 inch LG panel
Hi thanks, yes I am in UK (liverpool) I cant remember exactly how many tubes the panel has, I think it was 12 or 13, but I have pulled out the bad ones, I think 6 in total. One or 2 of the bad ones did eventually perk up the longer the set was left on, but always reverted back to just the ends lit when restarted, the effect on the display is very noticeable in the bad areas. LCD matrix itself is perfect so it would be a shame to ditch it, especially since I've fixed the main fault on the set (power supply).
Don't even think I have any CCFL tubes this size, I have a few pulled from a 26 inch panel, and I have a 42 inch LG panel (cracked) that will have EEFLs but obviously too long.
I'll add that 3 of the tubes I pulled will no longer light on the ends due to my clumsy feet standing on them :eek

Re: EEFL tubes for 32 inch LG panel
Hi sorry I've been away a few days. If you can let me know how much you want for the tubes plus postage I'm definitely interested as I'd really like to box this set off. I've temporarily reassembled the display as I don't want any accidents which is very likely with me lately.

Re: EEFL tubes for 32 inch LG panel
Hi. still looking for some of these tubes, vince sent me some but unfortunately most got damaged en route
If anyone has a broken 32 inch panel (LG) that would be suitable, I can collect from north west England if that would help prevent damage to the tubes.
Thanks

Re: EEFL tubes for 32 inch LG panel
Hi Clyde, I'm pretty sure I have a 32" LG panel in my basement from an older Vestel. Not sure what tubes it has, but it's yours. (I've also two 32" Samsung panels, both dead screen, CCFLs good too.)
Leeds LS4 if you want to collect, PM me.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: EEFL tubes for 32 inch LG panel
Hi
I did see you had these panels Tom, just the post was some time ago and I assumed they'd gone. Will send you a PM regarding picking them up, I'm busy nights this coming week so it may be the week after if that's ok.
The ones Vince sent were packed very well, I couldn't see any damage to the package, I think about 3 out of 8 survived the tripI wonder if Royal Mail dropped the package or put something heavy on top of it.
It is an older Vestel that I have, as far as I am aware LG have always used EEFL in their panels, certainly the ones I've encountered so far. Someone has suggested using CCFL, not sure if that's a good idea for so many tubes, maybe the odd one, I think the inverter might object and shut down, though it does appear to run with tubes missing.

Re: EEFL tubes for 32 inch LG panel
I've left the panels in the basement of the old house - will have to check with old room mates to see if I can get access. Just let me know when you are free, I will try to find a time to meet them. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!
