SwissTek T42 Dead Power Supply LJ44-00092C

    Hi,

I was wondering if I could get a little help / advice?

I have a totaly dead SwissTek T42 plasma I suspect it's the Power Supply:
Samsung LJ44-00092C (infact this whole TV is Samsung)

Now I've found a Repair Kit that fixes the dead PSU:
    http://www.ohmsupplies.co.uk/LJ4400092C-PSU-REPAIR-KIT

The caps are neither here or there since this thing is dead. I'm intrested in the IC101 and ZD101. I suspect one or both have poped!

I can source a Viper 22A no problem and the caps but the Zener Diode I'm having trouble with.

Can anyone also advise me on how to test the IC101 and DZ101 and or anything else to test?

Can any one recommend what the spec of the diode is? I have added a pic from the service manual.

    Much Appreciated.

Yep. No LED's nothing. I've tested all the fuses, the normal and cylider ones all fine about 6 in total on this board.

Looking at the Viper22A datasheet, page 4 of interest
        https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...31ef414f8d.pdf

I see it has a Vdd OVP of 38V and a nominal voltage rating of 16V maximum.

Therefore I would select a zener below the 38V max and above 16V nominal, so around say 22V to 27V. It would also need to be lower than any capacitors across Vdd.

          Thanks for the info!

The caps on the vdd wich I assume is the area I highlighted in the attached picture are 25v / 35v

So.. I'm going to order BZX79-C22. NXP Diode, Zener 500Mw 22V goes upto 75V I think.

22V looks to be OK there.
