hi all I have a few samsungs lying about with broke screens all give sound but obviously no picture
what I want to know is the boards likey to be bad due to screens breaking
or will they be usable

They will be usually good. Buffer boards can short if tv was powered on with cracked screen thou. Is a 50/50 chance on those. Sometimes you can see a faulty buffer board as the ic will have a hole in it.

Yeah all boards except buffers are pretty much guaranteed to be good, with the rare exception of the annoyed user who smashes their TV after it is faulty. Only way to be sure is to test them in a working set.
