I have a Samsung LNT4661FX lcd tv with an over brightness problem. I adjusted the brightness and contrast with no change . Is someone famillar with this problem.
Could be gamma IC on t-con board or bad EEPROM settings.

thanks for the reply guys i was thinking that it might be the t con, but not shure forgot to say that the screen will sometimes just pop back up perfect then go out again is this also common for this with the t-con. thanks again
That sounds more like a panel issue, probably tab bonds. May or may not be repairable.

I have a notebook, HP Pavilion 15-1812ND with brichtness issues.
When in windows, I use the the brightness keys on the keyboard, brightness goes up aprox (75%) then the screen begins to flicker and gets darker again.
When I lower the brightness again it's getting brighter first and then it dims and the flickerings gets less.
I already chaned the screen and LVDS Cable.
Does anyone ever seen this problem and maybe have an idea how to fix this.
Any help would be apprecited.
Hi everybody
Since day one I'm having an unpleasant contrast/brightness issue on my Asus laptop.
Basically while watching movies, if subtitles appear on screen, the contrast or the brightness of the entire screen increases a lot (not sure if it'is brightness or contrast), disturbing the viewing of the movie.
Last year I replaced my screen because got damaged and this contrast/brigthness issue persists. It happens only on the laptop screen, in fact If i plug an external HDMI screen the issue does not occour on it.
After getting the backlights up and running a second fault has emerged on this TV. I was going accept defeat and move on but thought I'd have a quick look at it in case it was something simple. The right side of the display exhibits a panel brightness (not backlight brightness) pulse every 2-3 seconds in a stable timing.
I poked about on the TCON test points and found one voltage that is fluctuating in the same pattern. VGH-ODD (Pin 47 of U10) is sitting at ~-6.5v then goes up to ~28v when the brightness pulses then goes back down to ~-6.5v again in a repeating pattern.

Hi everybody. I have a Getac S410 G1 with a screen brightness witch cannot be adjusted. It is at full brightness when the charger is plugged in (19V on the LCD connector) and at minimum under battery (12V on the LCD connector). Does anyone know where the problem is coming from ? Thank you.
I raised the question of whether PWM on the power board "dim" pin would be a reasonable assumption for controlling the backlight of a Philips TV (55put6101/12): https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...d-tv-backlight. I didn't receive any insights there so I went ahead and tried it.
