Hi everybody. I have a Getac S410 G1 with a screen brightness witch cannot be adjusted. It is at full brightness when the charger is plugged in (19V on the LCD connector) and at minimum under battery (12V on the LCD connector). Does anyone know where the problem is coming from ? Thank you.

I had the same problem on my Getac, it's caused by a faulty magnetic sensor which causes the laptop to think it is always closed.
In this state, the screen brightness goes down to minimum and the CPU frequency is locked at 0.4GHz. Luckily it is possible to disable the magnetic sensor in the BIOS on those laptops so you can use it normally.
The only downside is that the laptop won't go to sleep automatically anymore after closing the lid.

I've found 2 other Getac S410 with the same pb. So I will try to do something, if I can.
The magnetic sensor is on the on/off P1 P2 button board (photo 1).
The magnetic sensor (photo 2).
The motherboard connection (photo 3).
On the motherboard (photo4).

3 motherboards tested.
With the adapter or with the battery only, voltages are the same on the P1/P2/ON board. So the problem does not come from there.
Two other things to check (before to inspect the motherboard, I checked the manual) :
1 * P2 button : "Toggles the sunlight-readable mode on or off. In sunlight-readable mode, the LCD brightness is increased to the highest level."
Where is the light sensor ? On the webcam board (even if there is no webcam) ?
2 * The display brightness cannot be increased.
"As a protection, the display brightness will be fixed at a low level when the surrounding temperature is too high or too low. It is not a malfunction in this situation."Comment

by Michal TimkoHello, first of all - thank you in advance for help.
I got an Getac S410 G4 notebook with Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz. Everything works fine, but we need to have another Wifi NIC because of VW/Audi Cars diagnostic software.
So we added this one Realtek RTL8822CE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E Network Adapter to a free slot PCI-E 3.0 x1 port.
NIC is installed correctly, basically it works, but we dont know how to enable the Wifi on it. It seems like it is still in Airplane mode - we are unable to turn of Wifi on this card. BUT - this card will turn on Wifi itself, after some time,...01-29-2025, 05:29 PM -

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.- Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again. - Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.

by Zeonalbastai have a problem with thinkpad X1 carbon gen 2 "LMQ-1MB 12298-2 48.4LY26.021"
The laptop was turned off because the MOSFET was not transmitting voltage. After checking it turned out that the gate pin on the MOSFET was the problem, because it was producing an inappropriate voltage. and it was discovered that the problem was with the Think engine, so I decided to reprint each pin, and finally the mosfet could work properly. However, there is another problem, even though the voltage has been supplied to the laptop, it still won't turn on, there isn't even an LED indicator. After double... -
