    GETAC S410 G1 brightness problem

Hi everybody. I have a Getac S410 G1 with a screen brightness witch cannot be adjusted. It is at full brightness when the charger is plugged in (19V on the LCD connector) and at minimum under battery (12V on the LCD connector). Does anyone know where the problem is coming from ? Thank you.

Nice to hear. What was the resolution?

Had similar fun with this chassis last year in replacing their rare USB connectors. Ended up sourcing Molex USB mid-mount connectors (after hours of searching) and trimmed their mounts down to make it fit.

I had the same problem on my Getac, it's caused by a faulty magnetic sensor which causes the laptop to think it is always closed.
In this state, the screen brightness goes down to minimum and the CPU frequency is locked at 0.4GHz. Luckily it is possible to disable the magnetic sensor in the BIOS on those laptops so you can use it normally.
The only downside is that the laptop won't go to sleep automatically anymore after closing the lid.
