    Vizio e470vle

    Hi guys I just got a e470vle that was not working. Owner said it was the power suppy. I didnt care too much because it was pretty much free. He threw it in with the klipsch speakers i bought. So i bought a new power supply before testing and it ends up being fine. I tested and I am getting power to the main board all the way to the largest black square piece. I have no orange vizio back light and no response from the power button. I ordered a new main board but wondered if there is a cheaper easier fix? parts that often go bad? I am attaching a pic of each board.

    It seems to rarely be the power supply on Vizio sets, they're usually well built. It's usually the main board. How much did you pay for the replacement main board?

      I can see a hole blown in the HDMI receiver chip - near HDMI ports - this is probably the result of surge damage so repairing the main board would be uneconomical.
