Bad idea -- cap can be exposed to in excess of 400V on start up. It will probably work fine for a few days before failing.

You can use it for a quick test but get the right cap in there ASAP.

I had the 26" and 32" of this model with 400V replacements (they had been replaced before) and both had failed.

Help with Bush Tv (Vestel 17mb95m Mainboard)
            by FlailingEngineer
Hi, I was recently given a Bush Smart TV by a friend and the main board seems to be hanging on by a thread.

Before we get to that, my first obstacle was figuring out the model number since the back sticker has gone for a walk. Upon taking off the back case, I noticed the following Vestel parts, 17MB95m mainboard, 17IPS71 (what I'd assume is power supply) and a VES420UNVL-3D-S02 display panel. After doing some research I think the TV I have is a Bush ELED42240FHDCNTD3D, based on the matching image here (https://www.manualslib.com/manual/11...td3d.html#manu...

            Repairing cheap chinese Led bulbs
            by blero
            Hello,

I'd like to try to repair these corncob shaped chinese bulbs with tens of Leds on them.

I know they're bad quality and fail fast, because of the Leds or the capacitor(s).
So I plan to try to replace the main capacitor 15uF-400V with a good quality one.

I've used in the past some capacitors of this eBay vendor which is well known on this site: egekecu. I'm still daily using a monitor I repaired with his products.
I know it has been said he sells good and real brands but outdated capacitors. He's actually 3 times cheaper than RS-Online...

Need help identifying an IC chip on a Bush DAB radio (BD-1801)
            by tyler123456
            Hi,

Not sure whether anyone can help but I'm trying to identify the IC chip in the photo below.

I purchased a faulty Bush DAB radio (model # BD-1801) and identified that an IC chip was blown on it. Unfortunately, I couldn't read the manufacturer name / model number of the IC chip.

I purchased another (working) BD-1801 so that I could open it up to find out the IC details - but the IC chip details are missing (as you can see in the photo.)

Given the two huge blobs of solder either side of it I'm guessing it regulates power(?)

            Anyone...

Elite Capacitors? (450v 47uf power board Toshiba Vestel TV)
            by slybunda
anyone heard of these caps before? at first glance i mistook them to be Elna caps but closer look and it was elite. not sure if they are known failure prone brand.
also they are 47uf and 450v. why are they so large in height? i can get replacement 450v 47uf caps that are a quarter the height. what am i missing here?

if i were to replace them what should i be looking for?

they are on the power board of a toshiba (vestel) tv power board.

How Can I test PWM DM0365R?
            by chth96
            Hello
I have power adaptor(220V/input, 12V 1.2A/output) which has symptom of fluctuating output DC voltage between 11.5V-12.2V.
So I opened its plastic case and when switched it on, I heard constant tik tik sound from inside its PCB.
I measured DC voltage between negative and positive pin of the largest capacitor(400v 10uf) and it was measured contant 300V.
I also measured ESR value of all capacitors and I noticed that one of capacitor(KMG 16v 470uf), which located in the secondary side, have high ESR value(10 ohm),So I replaced it with same specification NXH capacitor....
