If freeze spraying that transistor cures the issue then that's definitely bad. When you freeze spray it, does it immediately evaporite over the transistor? If so that usually indicates a faulty part. Generally a hissing transformer means there's a short somewhere and it could very well be that transistor.

No it doesn't immediately evaporateover the transistor but the hissing stops as soon as I spray it.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Test it. Also check for cold solder joints through out the board.

Funny. 2n2222 is an old motorola npn switching transistor from the 1970s. Old design. All my subs are newer. Darn. I get like 5.4mohm ambient. 5.6mohm frozen.

Have you noticed any cold/cracked solder joints anywhere? The freeze could be providing a temporary connection if there are some.

Also, have you replaced the electrolytic cap c38 or the other ceramic c38 to the right of it? Try spraying that one see what happens.

Yes both caps changed. As a matter of fact I went ahead and changed all the caps on the hot side except for the main filter cap

I will have to see the bottom side so I can trace out the connections to see how the circuits are setup.

Well I threw in the towel. Put a fan on the power supply and its been running all night long. Think the transformer itself is bad. Sorry I couldn't post pics. I was trying to fix thisTV for the least amount possible because it's going to a friend that doesn't have a TV for her family I'm giving it to her

Well even with the fan. Bad idea for long term. I know its still shutting down. Any ideas?

@gary, so far we do not see any pictures of the boards so we cannot tell which version of this TV is. There are more than one version of this model.
