model number not given. Said that it went out during a storm, now only displays in B&W. Worth $50?

Re: One more purchase consideration: 42" Viore Plasma TV
Are you planning on reselling it? I'd be thinking bad main board as a worst case, which may or may not be expensive. I'm guessing that this TV is at least 5 yrs old, so I'd have a hard time coughing up $50.Last edited by capkid; 09-11-2013, 01:40 PM. -
Re: One more purchase consideration: 42" Viore Plasma TV
I personally find it hard to make anything off of Plasmas, especially anything 720p. They are so cheap to buy up front brand new that nobody wants an old one. People also have this misconceived fear that plasmas are not as good. I personally love my 1080p plasma and would settle for nothing less. But to each his own.Comment

I usually manage to shift a 42" 720p plasma for £200... strangely, a full HD 42" plasma goes for about the same!! Most people here look at screen size only. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: One more purchase consideration: 42" Viore Plasma TV
Wow! I wouldn't stand a chance at that on a 42" Plasma. I just upgraded our 50" 1080p LG plasma for a 55" Panasonic and I'm thinking I'll be lucky to get $300 for the 3 year old LG.
Heck, I had a perfectly working 6 year old Phillips 720p 50" plasma a few months back and finally let it go for $150 after months of trying to sell it for $200.Last edited by aaronwt6; 09-12-2013, 06:12 AM.Comment

Re: One more purchase consideration: 42" Viore Plasma TV
Yeah, I hear ya. Problem here is all these dirt cheap no name TVs on the market that are only going to last a year or two anyway. People think they are a bargain price wise but in all honesty they are a rip off for the long term.Comment

Was less of a problem here, until the likes of Toshiba and Sharp started re-badging the supermarket tellies as their own. They have started failing in drones...Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: One more purchase consideration: 42" Viore Plasma TV
I managed to get $180 for a 32" 720p Samsung last month, the first and only thing I've managed to sell so far. but I have to agree with Aaron, a lot of people on this side of the pond just look at screen size, the ones that are looking at resolution too usually either know too much or not enough.Comment

by KYBOSHGot my hands on an relatively unknown TV brand about two weeks ago.
I certainly hadn't heard of it before.
Previous owner didn't give a description of what was wrong and when I got it the back cover was already off.
I put it on the back burner until I had so spare time to look it over.
Today was that day.
I plugged it in and was surprised to see that it started up without any issues.
This is an older TV and the most modern video input that it has is DVI.
I was scrambling to find a DVI connector or adapter as I haven't fooled with that... -
by prodigy83My reference only: TT10141.
Problem: I need to purchase a mosfet chip from board 820-02100 M1 Pro, that is supposed to be Q5820 but according to Digikey, the schematic diagram I sent them, neither are relevant to the actual mosfet specification I sent them. I just basically need to find this mosfet to purchase, I cannot find it anywhere and am hoping someone could point me in the right direction without have to purchase this entire allusive board. Already checked with Digikey, Mouser, Aliexpress, eBay. Any suggestions?
Mosfet specs are as follows:

by ArMaaN376Hello,
I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.
How to confirm Y -Buffer board... -
by jm1234Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults... -
