Samsung LN55C630 LCD with horizontal black lines

When I turned on my Samsung LN55C630(K1F) LCD this morning, there were a bunch of thin black lines running the width of the screen, horizontally. All lines are about 1mm thick with equal spacing between all lines. Issue is found all on inputs, also on menu screen.

I had been having some issues with colored lines running vertically, but I found that a light tap on the back by the T-con board would fix the issue.

I checked the capacitors, which seem to be fine. I tried re-seating the T-con board's cable, nothing. I have not yet torn the TV down completely to check the LCD tabs, but in pushing on the bottom portion of the screen, that didn't seem to do anything.

I've been reading around and seeing some people replacing the actual T-con board and having some success, didn't know if anyone else had this specific model and had success fixing the problem.

    Thanks

It does look like it could be a t-con problem. One thing to check. If you bring up a fully white screen, are the black lines invisible or visible?

Just tested some plasma break in slides. On a bright white screen, almost washout white, the lines do not appear. But when I take it down a slide to a duller white/gray, the lines appear. The lines then appear on all subsequent slides/colors

      Thanks

OK, so what this means is it can't over-drive the pixels, which means it's likely a t-con or main problem and not a panel issue, unfortunately I don't know how to rule out the main board.

Awesome. Good to hear it's not the panel. I'll pick up a new T-con board and test that, and then move onto the main board if need be.

With the T-con board, I've seen a couple different iterations for the LN55C630, just a letter off. Do I have to get the exact same board, or can I substitute another one?

          Thanks for your help.

If the board looks roughly the same, it should work -- obviously, don't order a board that's completely different. There's usually a part # at the top or middle of the board, have you tried using that to order?

I'll have to pull the back off the tv again to get the exact number, but I will use that when I look around online.

Just wanted to give an update on this problem. I ordered the T-Con board, and as of right now, fingers crossed, knock wood, the problem appears to be resolved.

Thank you so much for your help with this. I really appreciate it!

Samsung QN70Q6DTA Ghost or horizontal lines after tape fix horizontal line
                  by Ihandyrepair
                  Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

Samsung plasma 50" TV, model PN50C540G3F, has black horizontal lines
                  by CyberNinja
First, the black horizontal lines even overlay the TV's menu. Does this behavior indicate that it's the plasma panel that's defective? If not for the black lines, the TV works just fine. I've cleaned the 6 connectors between the panel and the Y-buffer board, causing no change in the black lines. Visually, the 12 ICs on the Y-buffer look brand new (no holes, etc.). I put my fluke meter in continuity mode and tried to perform the "short" test on the 6 panel ports and found many shorts. But I don't think I'm doing the "short" test correctly and I'm hoping someone can provide guidance....

I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

Pioneer PDP-V402 - Black Horizontal Lines
                  by Wf789
Hi, I'm new around here and hoping that there may still be some people on here that are knowledgable about plasma display repair, as some of the old badcaps forum posts have been pretty useful to me so far.

For any regular plasma TV I probably wouldn't bother to go through this effort, but I have a pro-grade Pioneer plasma which I really want to use and it would be a shame to throw it out since there's not many of them still around these days. The plasma has the typical black horizontal lines that seem plague plasma displays. I've counted 3 lines on top of the screen and 4 at the...
