Samsung DLP Light Bulb Replacement

Hey everyone. Friend of mine has a 50" DLP set and the bulb blew today. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a reliable, quick supplier with good quality bulbs. I just don't want him to end up with something cheap that's just going to die quickly. His original made it 5 years.

He's going to shoot me the model number shortly. I'm taking him a 32" loaner tomorrow so he has something to watch.

Curious too since I'm not familiar at all with these but is this a standard type bulb with a filament? Reason I ask is he said it didn't look blown but I had him check for continuity and it shows open.

Scratch that. Found the answer and can't be tested like that.

Got him to check the error code and its all three lights blinking which definitely indicates a lamp failure. Model number is hl50a650c1f so back to the original question of where to get it if anyone has a recommendation.

Shopjimmy good source either Phillips or the Osdram lamp might would stray away from the Osdram Neolux lamp not good results with that one

be careful of the Chinese knockoffs there cheap and don't hold up ,I have used shopjimmy exclusively they have low failure rate and will replace if failed during warranty with no issues my opinion i would use the lamp only route @ S/J and just replace the bad lamp using your friends same housing

Thanks again for the advice. I've bought numerous LCD parts from shopjimmy. I'll check with them and see what they have.
