Whilst these are repairable, it's risky because a failed X-main can damage the Y-main on these sets.

There's so many of these cheap for sale I would not bother. I tried to repair a similar 42" one recently and could not identify the SMD components. All I ended doing was then blowing the Ymain as well.

Samsung PN60F5500AF - Now it Glows
                by Renovator
A friend called, a panel I helped install, had just made a pop and lost the picture, still had sound. No previous issues.

Apparently, upon their further toggling there was another smaller pop. When I got there a few days later, No Sound, No glow, the front standby LED counting out a sequence. I pulled the back and the main/control board LED was in the 5 sec fault mode.

I followed a diagnostic that Tom669 had helped a similar set owner with, at AVS:

Wow, its been 5 years since the last time I posted here. Had been troubleshooting TV's for 3 years prior that while fixing hundreds of sets but now I can barely remember the basics of where to begin.

So I just picked up this Samsung Plasma set. Couldn't resist the free stuff. The set will turn on (little chime plays) but there is no picture.

Upon opening the back, the Vs and Va Voltages seem to be missing. They seem to be dropping off when the set first turns on. Vs starts at 211V and Va starts at 57V (The correct voltages from the label) and then steadily...

I have a 60” samsung plasma pn60f5300afxza. It started taking several tries to come on, got worse and has now quit coming on completely. I opened it up and checked power supply voltage. The vs and va voltages drop rapidly when power is turned on. Through process on elimination i found 2 connections that when disconnected from the main board; the vs and va voltages remain steady at 208 and 57 respectively. One is the white ribbon connector going to the ymain board. The 2nd is the 14 pin wire connector going to the x main board. Even with the xmain disconnected from the ymain, it still causes...
