Pretty much, From my limited understanding.
With mine it only relay clicks when you turn the master switch on , it's not a soft start.
If it's no longer cycling on at all and no relay clicks, no sos.
Sounds like the A board may have quit which is unbelievable but when it comes to power on sequence and checks, Tom's one of the best for that.
I can't see anything we did should cause the A board to die, could be a missing voltage.
We know 5v standby is there since the front LED is lit.
There's no justice. I had a similar blow, cleared the SS short only to find SOS1 waiting for me on the A board. It was functional until it came time to power the panel up.
I hope someone can keep working with you on this but if you need an A board, I expect that may be a challenge.Comment

A couple of longshots, Maybe try the remote, sometimes the TV goes back to it's last state when power is re-applied or try holding the power button and see if it resets.Comment

ok I just put in a used ss from ebay and another power board from ebay. Both boards didn't fix it. Can someone else out there help me out. Please.Comment

I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.
So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.

anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults... -
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here๐ค?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting ๐.

Hello,
Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.
Model number is TH-50PZ85U
Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.
Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.
I also hear a few clicks.
I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.
