Hi picked up a Samsung 40 inch LCD TV.
When i first got it , it had a blown power board fuse
and swollen caps. I replaced 4 caps and the fuse
and re-inserted the board. The fuse then literally vapourised with a bang.
I then removed that board as it must have a nasty short.
Anyhow, ordered another psu off ebay and got it going again.
Checked voltages too, all seem ok.
Latest aggrovation is the TV does not show any picture
when an HDMI source is input, but DOES work ok with
a SCART input, both video and audio.
Have tried a few service menu factory resets but made no difference.
Questions are : A) Is there any easy checks i can do,
im a complete novice but want to learn.
B) Is this an AV board problem ?
C) Can i eliminate the t-con board.
D) Could the blowing first power board screwed up the av board ?
PS Have a LG tv almost exhibiting the same problem, sound through Scart only and nothing through any others inputs. Must be something common here.
Any ideas guys ???
Andy
