Re: Samsung 40 inch LE40A456C2D No HDMI picture - with pics
Ok I'll order a replacement board, prob around £25 with postage.
I agree its prob shoot.
But,
can i ask, from a learning point of view... the eeprom pin connection process, is that very much the same as doing a service menu 'reset' ???

Re: Samsung 40 inch LE40A456C2D No HDMI picture - with pics
thanks Tom -
Press INFO when on HDMI. Does HDMI1 appear again? Yes info about the source displays, 1980 x 1020 24hz etc.
Does menu work on HDMI mode? Yes the menu displays.
After selecting HDMI can you select other ports too? Yes
Have you tried other HDMI ports? Yep there are 3 hdmi's and its the same results for each.
Have just been in the service menu again. I notice it has a menu 'WBA Adjust' then 'Calibration', then 'HDMI Calibration', this has 'Failed'...

Samsung 40 inch LE40A456C2D No HDMI picture - with pics
Model : LE40A456C2D 40 inch LCD
PSU : BN44-00197A
Main Board : BN94-01672D / BN41-00980A
History : The TV came with a blown power board. I replaced the board as the fuse had completey shattered and there was a cheap replacement
on ebay. All the replacement psu voltages seem near to ok (i think ?).
Voltages at psu :

Samsung LE40A456C2D
Hi picked up a Samsung 40 inch LCD TV.
When i first got it , it had a blown power board fuse
and swollen caps. I replaced 4 caps and the fuse
and re-inserted the board. The fuse then literally vapourised with a bang.
I then removed that board as it must have a nasty short.
Anyhow, ordered another psu off ebay and got it going again.
Checked voltages too, all seem ok.
Latest aggrovation is the TV does not show any picture
when an HDMI source is input, but DOES work ok with
a SCART input, both video and audio.

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi my name is Andy based in Essex. I try to write software for a living but love fixing things. Can be anything from the car to the TV.
Problem i have is where/when to draw the line and give up !
Have done some 'easy' TV psu recaps and a few mechanical TV repairs but now joining up as I've met my match with an LG TV!
