The higher the ripple current the better, as long as the ESR is close, but ESR is not very important for primary capacitors. But like tom asked, list the specs of the one you have and the one you are looking at

Hello. I want to first thank debom3 and tom66 for your help in fixing my samsung 52" lcd.
I have a question for tom66. I just bought a used toshiba 55g300u. when i went to buy it there were no issues. i haven't really used it much, but it just started making a high pitch sound and the picture comes on and off in no particular sequence.
i have tried to use the different hdmi and cable inputs and it happens to all. the picture goes on and off but i hear the sound. if i tap on the back cover the picture comes back or turns off. if you are on the menu and the picture goes off, you don't see the menu either.
i just need a general idea if the tv is toast, or if its an inverter, a bad backlight tube, power issue, or connection issue?
thanks again for your time! very much appreciated!

I wish I had received my 55g300u in working shape. But for now I get to keep trying to fix it. I am learning a lot of new things though!
