Vestel Repair Please confirm these are ok

    Hi

I obtained some of the caps (C877, C878) required on the 17pw15/20 range and I am not sure if they will be ok and was wondering if someone could confirm, I have attached the Datasheet for the parts I have got.

    Thanks in advance

They are not ideal -- you really need class X. I'm not sure if class Y will work, but I don't think they will last long.

        X is live-to-neutral rated -only-
        Y is live-to-earth rated -only-

The use of these in unintended applications is the main reason Vestel had so many failures (trying to be cheap using cheap caps.)

Ideally, you would use a polypropylene or poly-film capacitor, rated at least 800V.

Yes Tom they did work...once, turned tv on after fitting, worked fine, left it turned off for 24hours and now the TV is just starting and going straight back to standby

Replace the caps with low ESR X class caps and all should be good

There is no such thing as a high ESR X cap... they are by their nature low ESR.

Also class X is not recommended, unless they are rated to a minimum of 800V ideally 1kV. Such rated components are rare, so use poly film instead.

Vestel tv, how to flip the image?
                      by France_53
Hello everyone from Italy, I'm here to ask for help on a Vestel TV, I've had a Vestel TV branded "XD" with a broken screen for years, but now I've found a Telefunken (still Vestel but older) and I've mounted the panel on the "XD" TV, it works, but the screen is upside down, given that Vestel does not allow you to rotate the image from the service menu, does anyone know how to solve the problem? the original panel is marked ves315WNDS-2D-N12 while the main board 17mb110, the panel I mounted instead in the tv (from the telefunken) is a ves315WNDA-02. ... It is not worth repairing...

Help with Bush Tv (Vestel 17mb95m Mainboard)
                      by FlailingEngineer
Hi, I was recently given a Bush Smart TV by a friend and the main board seems to be hanging on by a thread.

Before we get to that, my first obstacle was figuring out the model number since the back sticker has gone for a walk. Upon taking off the back case, I noticed the following Vestel parts, 17MB95m mainboard, 17IPS71 (what I'd assume is power supply) and a VES420UNVL-3D-S02 display panel. After doing some research I think the TV I have is a Bush ELED42240FHDCNTD3D, based on the matching image here (https://www.manualslib.com/manual/11...td3d.html#manu...

What 'class' is this Hill Audio DX3000 Amplifier?
                      by dicky96
Hi guys, this is general query really

So I have a Hill DX3000 3KW audio amplifier here.

It has a topology/design like a class A/B but all the banks of output transistors (10 transistors in each 'side' of the channel) are NPN.

I was wondering what class this is. It doesn't fit the description of class A.
It also doesn't match class A/B or B amplifiers as all the examples I see have a complimentary output stage desigs (NPN/PNP) and clearly is not G, H or D

I looked for 'class A push pull' but that didn't tell me anything either
                      ...

                      3090 FE Part Confirm/Identification
                      by H H
                      Hello,

I'm hoping someone could help me confirm if I have identified the following parts correctly.

Apparently the DP cable became stuck inside the graphics card and was yanked out. This caused some sort of short which burned the DP contacts and blew some resistors and ferrite beads.

The parts needing replacement are on the back of the board behind the HDMI input.

I have identified the parts as the following:

                      C6037: MLCC 0.1uf/16v(0402)x7R W05

                      R6016: RES 499 OHM 1/16W (0402) 1%

                      LB10911: Ferrite Bead (0402)...
