I'm trying to fix this 32" LCD TV. The symptoms are that the TV comes on for about 15 seconds then it shuts down. Once it has shutdown it turns itself back on, and it just goes round in a loop of being on for 15 seconds then shutting down after that.
When it is on, you can use the buttons on the side of the TV to change the channel, change the volume, change the input, access the menus and so on.
All the colours are bad when the TV is on- there seems to be not enough red perhaps? Everything looks strange. If you have it on analogue tuning, the snow looks like black and white snow though.
Internally, the power supply appears to be good- it is putting out all the right voltages. The backlights seem fine. So I suspect the T-Con (strongly), or a bad panel or a bad main board. I've checked the voltage regulators I can find on the main board and they seem to be putting out sensible voltages (a 3.3V, a 1.6V and an 8V from an adjustable one).
Any tips on how I can narrow it down more than this?
