    Mitsubishi WS-65807 projection TV

Hi All - I am messing around with an old dinosaur of a 60 inch projection television

    - pressing input and video for 5 sec to get error code 21 x-ray circuit
    - the x-ray circuit is on the main board next to the hv flyback PCB-MAIN pg18 of service manual
    - seems to have a fuse on all the outputs which makes things alot easier
    - most of cold side/secondary not reading any voltages except for the standby voltage
    - fuses F9A01 and A06 no voltages .. in standby supply
    - only R9A62 reading 12v in switched supply .. D9A57/F9A03/F9A04/F9A04 all zero
    - the hv section is fed from 110v on the KF connector to pcb main pg3/2987

    - turning the power switch on and off in front doesn't change anything on the cold/secondary voltages
    - guessing either a bad fuse large power cap or bad rectifier up the line .. but it is still getting 12v dc on standby

    - you can see all the secondary green fuses in image 2064

    - Will running this power supply without a load damage it or should I connect a power resistor to the 12v output? want to live test it disconnected from rest of TV
    - Also looking for some general knowledge and description of the circuits in projection televisions or maybe another well written service manual showing far more details

    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks

preliminary photos of circuit board - I will take better ones tommorrow

    No Power On
    Cause 1
    1. CHECK IC7A00 PIN 53 FOR LOW LOGIC (0 VOLTS), IF HIGH (3.3 VDC) CHECK FOR SHORTED D9A31 PART # 264P045050 AND OPEN R9A33 220 OHM 1/4 WATT ON THE POWER PCB.

    Shutdown at Power
    Cause 1
This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times.
    1 - 2 = no error detected
    2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current)
2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies)
2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection)
2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source)

    1. SELF- DIAGNOSIS INDICATE X-RAY. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC5A03 PART # 270P704010 AND AN OPEN R5A73 82K ΒΌ WATT OFF PIN 2 OF IC5A02 ON THE MAIN PCB.

    2. SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT.

    3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB.

      Protect NVR device with PoE
      by Adenitz
Hello, I have a setup with NVR 16 Canais H.265 1080p HD PoE+ - TRENDnet TV-NVR416 that is using 10 cameras, some are outdoors. What would be the best way to protect NVR device from power surges? All ports are PoE so the NVR supply power to the cameras. NVR is pretty expensive so I would like to protect it somehow. Should I use some kind of switch that needs to be connected to the cameras, so it could "take a hit" if there is a power surge. Thank you!

Hitachi HTA-DD3W AV Receiver Error Code -Protect-
      by CdDvdFlash
I have a Hitachi HTA-DD3W AV receiver and when I got it I tested it working fine with speakers but it needed a clean inside because it had signs of moisture in it but it was fully dry with bits of wood chips, I guess this was left in a shed so I fully disassembled it and cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol very carefully, some de-soldering was also needed but now its very clean, luckily there was no rust on any components and all the capacitors are fine with no bulging. When I turn it on I hear a relay switch on then a few seconds later another relay switches on or off and the display has a "-PROTECT-"...

Lenovo Thinkpad T14 gen 1: Unlock MEC: in protect mode
      by x16
      Hi,

      i have Lenovo Thinkpad T14 gen 1 20S1 / SN: PF2M0XAG.

I moved resistor like every time and read MEC chip with SVOD4. I unlocked 3 other mainboards successfully but this one could not read. SVOD 4 Software says: "MECxxxx series in protect mode, work mass erase only". Like in screenshot.

      What can i do?...

Sony Dav-dz350 no power on secondary
      by sarry86
Hi guys, I have this power supply which has a problem providing power on the secondary portion, seems like there's no power past the transformers, I checked the PFF4N80 which had shorted and replaced it with a new one, I then checked the optocoupler part and found that the TL341 IC too had shorted out so I replaced it with a new one as well, I measured everything on the secondary side of my power supply and I found a 1N5819 diode shorted, I replaced it with a new one, nothing else seem to have a problem, I am out of ideas, please anyone help me out what should I look after...

Secondary out 32 volts AC getting 146 volts DC do not understand
      by sam_sam_sam
I will post a picture of this transformer setup tomorrow I hope someone can shed some light on how this
could be ( has a bridge rectifier with no capacitors on the DC side on other thing that is strange about this setup is that negative side of the bridge rectifier also goes to machine ground )

Now if check one wire that to the machine ground and wire one tap that goes to the bridge rectifier the voltage is really wired and when you check the other tap wire that goes to other side of the bridge rectifier this voltage is also is really weird but not 32 volts AC side of the...
