    Re: Panansonic tx-37lzd80

    What have you tested?
Main primary cap is bulging so I'd consider blown fuse and bad primary cap, possibly bad PFC circuit (Same as Samsung you are working on.)

That cap will be fine. However, you will need to replace the PFC FETs and some other components.

You can just buy the kit for £40 or work it out by using the same testing method I went through with your on the Samsung.

I finished my work for this year, so I'm free until January 6th.
My last task it's unresolved and I'm looking for ideas for the return in January.

                So what's about...
This laptop is booting in 3-4 seconds has no password and every voltage is present. So far so good.
My problem is that it doesn't boot from anything. !...just stays with a blank screen(backlight only)
No USB boot (in fact partially no boot...), no PXE boot nor boot from M2.SATA or NVME...crazy...

Computer SMPS has voltages from a moment and then disapear
                by Francesc V.
                Hi:

I am trying to repair a 1000W cheap power supply, but so far, with no much success.

The ATX has stable 5V STBY.
When shortening PsuON to ground, it triggers all voltages for a fraction of a second and then disapear (I see the leds flashing for a moment from the ATX tester)

                - I removed and tested the capacitors. They are OK.
                - Removed and tested the Output rectifiers from the secondary.
                - Removed and tested the Mosfets from the primary.
                - Outputs are not shorted.
                - Overakk review of the solder joins.

                ...

                Mackie Th15 SMPS low Vout
                by madan1
                Hello,
I'm troubleshooting a PA speaker Mackie Th15 (schematics attached).
It is basically a smps with amp and some dsp.
The issue is that on the secondary side I read +/- ~23V instead of the expected +/- 38V. Indeed all secondary side and feedback/aux rails are like 1/2-3/5 of the expected values.
Q2, Q3, C35, C40, C33, C36, C41 and C42 were tested out of circuit with a component tester and read fine. Most of the other components on the primary were tested in circuit and seem to be fine. +HV to -HV on primary is ~330V.
By the way, the ferrite core of L10 is broken,...

Ideas on what's going on with this T480s
                by ZoneMind6006
It's already computrace disabled and all that good stuff, W25Q80V and W25Q128V seem fine. The issue is powering the thing on, the fan will spin for about a half second and if power is kept in, it continues to do so in intervals. If I place the battery in, it will show orange for just a sec, now interestingly, if I place a charger in both the TB port and charging port at the same time it will turn white or charge until completion, how odd, but it won't boot. Any ideas?

Xilence XP600 600w ATX PSU - No PWM Controller on primary side - how does it work?
                by dicky96
                Hi guys
I have a faulty Xilence ATX PSU here

The fault basically is I have two short circuit power transistors on the primary side of the large SMPS transformer - they are 2SC3320.

There is another smaller transistor on the primary side C3866 which tests ok

The PSU has three transformers - it looks like the 2SC3320's drive the big one and the C3866 drives one of the small ones. There is a separate PFC PCB with it's own controller and MoSFETS

There is also a short on the 3.3V output and a near short on 5V - I suspect this probably blew...
