Fairly new panel - 29"... odd size... only started appearing around 2011? Unless it is a 30" panel? (29.6"?)
Could be pressure damage potentially from previous owner.

No, it's gotta be older than that Tom. I found a spec sheet and it says 2003, and refers to it as a 30' panel.

The TV was part of a bunch that I bought from a guy for TV repair practice. The TV initially had a "two seconds to shutdown" inverter problem. On inspection, one of the high voltage transformers on the inverter board was gone. But, I found an improvisation on badcaps where you insert an LED between the CCFL controller chip on the inverter board and ground and this prevents the TV from shutting down... (though it was running minus the one bulb on the dodgy transformer)..

I remember I watched the All Ireland Final on it a couple of years back and it looked fantastic even without the missing bulb. I then gave the TV away on loan while I was repairing a friends TV. He returned the TV to me when I had his repaired. A while after that, I took in a TV with a tcon problem, but it happened to have same inverter board. I put the inverter board in to this TV and only then noticed the mark :-(..
