    Viore PDP42V18HA Bad "YSUS" board?

    Greetings all,
I just got the above mentioned Viore plasma TV. After some poking around inside, I found a blown fuse on the "YSUS", PN6871QYH953A, board. (The fuse on the in-board side of the board) I replaced it and although it didn't pop, the TV's relay actuated a few times and the the power led went out. With the fuse NOT installed, the red "standby" led comes on and then turns green when the TV is powered up but that is all that happens; no picture, no sound.
Not knowing much about troubleshooting electronics, would it be safe to assume that something is amiss with "YSUS" board? Or is the power supply more suspect?
Thanks in advance for your help!

    This is most likely.
Can you show us some pictures of the chassis layout?

Hi the Y Sus board PN6871QYH953A has an IPM module under the big heatsink that has failed and blown the Vs fuse this is common with this board. Replacement boards that can be fitted are 6871OYH953A 6871QYH953B 6871QYH053A 6871QYH053B the IPM can also be replaced, but this is not a job that can be completed without the right tools

If you decide to change the IPMs, which isn't an easy task without the right tools as has been mentioned and could result in damage to the board, it's recommended that both the Y-Sus and Z-Sus IPMs be changed at the same time. The Z-Sus IPM could fail shortly after the Y-Sus IPM.

FANTASTIC information! (and good news..) Thanks guys!!
I'll try to post pics later today.
I saw a pair of "rebuilt" boards, the YSUS and ZSUS, for approximately $150, that seems pretty good but you folks seem to know a bunch more than me.

I'd ask if the IPMs were actually replaced with NEW IPMs when they were rebuilt. Some may be using pulled IPMs from other boards that may have a relatively short lifespan. Also, do the sustains come with a warranty?

              Buffer may also need changing...

These are the pics as promised. Late, but...
The last shows some oily substance, on the back-plain, under the Zsus board. There was also some of this material on the YSus board. Anyone know what it is and is it normal?

                Thanks again!

I've seen this "oily" substance on the back of sustains a few times when repairing LG-based TVs. I thought it was flux residue, but I'm not sure. I would just wipe it off with some 99% alcohol. It's never affected the functionality of any TV I've repaired.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                    Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

                    by Hakuu
                    Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

                    More Details

                    TV Model - LG OLED77G1PUA

Got the same exact TCON board from TVPartsToday and replaced it. But didnt transfer the EPPROM data (didnt...

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
                    by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
                    by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board
