    Olevia 537-b11 wierd problem.

The set will turn on and display a picture for 10 min-30min. Then the remote and buttons stop working. Then after a while, the set turns off.

Saw a couple of swolen caps on the power supply so I replaced all of the cold side caps with Panasonic FM and FC. No change.
All power supply voltages are correct, stable, and ripple free. I checked all the regulators and all are spot on. There are no labels on either the power supply or the other boards. Electrotanya doesn't have a manual, but I think I have located the Pwr on line. Maybe I'll try a resistor to hold it up. I'm thginking Main board, any thoughts? Anyone have the service manual?

Did you check the capacitance and ESR of all the other caps? If you used a hair dryer you might be able to find what components are causing the fault more quickly..

Truep, did you ever have any luck finding the problem with this set? I picked one of these up and it seems to be having the same problem. I will randomly power off, sometimes the controls stop responding (remote and on the set), sometimes the picture will display wrong, etc. Most of the time when it powers off it will just turn right back on if not a hard power cycle will get working again. With the exception of the main cap, I replaced all the Elite craps on the power board thinking that was the problem but it did not fix this set. I did not touch the UCC KY caps. I have to get it back from my parents house as I took it over there before thoroughly testing it after the recap.

I sent the main board to moduslink for repair but haven't received it back yet.

            Thanks for replying!

Did using the hair dryer point you in the direction of a particular chip or did you just send them the board and say fix it? Do you have a cost estimate on the repair?
