Hello. I am working on a Sharp LC-42D62U. I think I have narrowed it down to a main board problem, but because of my lack of funds, I would like to see if I could repair the board. I was wondering what part of the main board might be causing the distorted picture I have. It seems like RAM or something. Please any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Sharp LC-42D62U Main Board repair - help!
Hi, with the last mention lies a clue to what may be wrong here, and it points to bad contacts on the board. Try to look with a magnifying glass on the board, and search for fine cracks, bad solder joints.
I see multiple chips BGA mounted on the motherboard and one of them may have develop a dry contact. If the possibility exists, try to reflow first the board, on a specialised laptop service.
All the best!In a transistor circuit protected by a fuse, the transistor will always blow to protect the fuse.
