Panasonic TC-P50G15 - LED always on, but no picture

I have a Panasonic TC-P5015. The TV will turn on, the red LED is solid, there is no blinking light from the LED. The relays click, and the screen turns a dark gray, but no picture. The Fans are not running at all. Could this just be the power board?

I have unplugged the TV for 30 mins. But, I still experience the same issue.

I have no blinking lights to direct the problem. By the way there was a thunderstorm, but I have the TV connected to a surge protector.

Was the antenna connection protected too? I had mine on an UPS but hdmi port got zapped via antenna to PVR via HDMI both devices dead. A board survive just lost 1 HDMI.

I'd be thinking the main board but process of elimination. You could check if the onboard LEDs on the SS & SC boards are lit(if yours has them) when powered on, Check the PSU and see what voltages are present.

That is true. But they are still separate processors. One for the video generation, another for plasma AI (SC, SS, SU, SD, data drivers, SOS.)

I guess it's a shortcut for what you'd access via the service menus, might try it myself on my 12th gen.

Yes, it's a blind method. But since the fans aren't spinning, I wonder if it will respond to accessing the service menus. It works on my 2008 TH-46PZ80B (I'm not sure what generation it is.)

I can't get it to work, with the vol -button, you have to go F first to make it vol adjust, tried both ways, never mind, worth a try.

i think yours is 11th gen

These TVs have less buttons don't they? I think they combined the menu and volume or something like that. In which case the combination will be different. Is this TV a 12th or 13th gen?

12th Gen, I forget now if the buttons were combined, my first ever Plasma was a 10th gen PX7 (PX70 etc)

Yeah I think you're right, the 10th gen I had the vol +-, Ch + - are all separate buttons, now combined and selected with the F button first

TOM66 thanks for the troubleshooting tip. Unfortunately, I still don't see anything. Could this be the A board? Or the power board?

tw2005, I can see the green LEDs lit on the SS board. I am going to see if there are any bad capacitors on the power board. Do you guys recommend a site to buy replacement boards? I had my Direct TV box connected to the TV.

On another site it stated some about the Vol - button and the menu key on the remote. Does that do anything?

By the way, the TV was manufactured in 2009.

It's rare for bad caps in the panasonic, The SC should have a green LED too. Sounds like the boards a powered, I'd check all the voltages, if ok most likely the A board especially since it is not putting an error blink. not sure how the fans operate, never had a set with them.

Shopjimmy is usually ok but i think he has no A boards or much else for this. Otherwise Ebay I guess?

So I have been trying to find a replacment for the A board (part number TXN/A1FFUUS) with no luck. Is there another panasonic A board that could work for this model.

This appears to be the board number: TNPH0793AM. I'm also working on a Panasonic plasma from this generation, and those A boards don't seem to be easy to find. I may be contacting ModusLink to see if they can rebuild my board. They rebuilt a Samsung main board for me a couple months ago for around $70, and it worked great when I got it back. I'm not sure how much they'd charge for the Panasonic board:
