    Vizio e470vl orange light only

    Hey Folks,
    I have a Vizio e470vl with an orange light only on the front. There is no picture or sound. The power supply seems to be good on the outputs but not the inputs coming from the mainboard. My feeling is that the eeprom has quit and needs to be replaced. Any ideas where the eeprom is located on the mainboard? I don't have a schematic or a pic of the bottom of the mainboard, but I think the chip is located at U14.

    Also, I have checked the power supply on the following pins:

    5v = 5.17v
    5v = 5.17v
    5v = 5.17v
    gnd = ok
    gnd = ok
    gnd = ok
    gnd = ok
    12v = 12.27v
    12v = 12.27v
    12v = 12.27v
    PS_ON = 1.17v
    1-ON/OFF = 0v
    LAMP = 0v
    DIM = .76v

    These readings were the same no matter if I pressed the on/off button. Thanks.

      Did you check the fuses on the mainboard? There are two small fuses near the larger white input connector.

        The two fuses tested good. There is a third fuse nearby, it tested good as well.

          Whenever I see the brand Vizio, I suggest people to test the voltage regulators. It only takes 5 minutes or less. Report your findings exactly as shown in my examples.

            I'm not sure if there are any regulators under the shielding. The voltage regulators were tested as follows:

            LOC = U8
            LINE1 = 7805LT
            LINE2 = RAB003
            PIN1 = 12.26V
            PIN2 = 0V
            PIN3 = 5.03V

              Anyone know where the firmware chip might be located on this board? I am now assuming it's located under the shielding where the processor resides.

                I think at this point it's time to swap out the main board and be done with it.
