    Sanyo DP42849

I have a sanyo DP42849 that a friend gave me, he said that it just quit working when he went to turn it on one morning nothing happened. When i plugged it in i got no lights not even a standby or power light. When i took of the back cover i found a bad IC (will post pictures) on the power supply board. There is no other damage or bad caps that i can see. I have searched and looked through service manuals but none of them show this IC. Does any one know what IC i need and where i can order a new one. From the pictures do you think there is more damage and should replace the whole power supply board. I thought if i could just replace the IC that would be the way to go.
Thanks any help is greatly appreciated.

Cant find a schematic. Found this high res image of the board.

    http://assets.shopjimmy.com/media/ca...20c41500_1.jpg

Somebody might be able to recognise it from the high res image. It's the PWM chip by the look of it... If this chip is blown you'd also want to check the three pin FET just below it on that image... it's labelled Q601, it could also be shorted. Also B01 the main bridge rectifier.. Maybe check the main transformer as well. The fuse may be blown as well.. To be 100% sure you'd need to check all the components, but if you're playing the odds they are the ones I would check first..

I checked the fuse that was good. I will check over the other ones you suggest today and see what i find.
      Thanks for the help!

I can't either... you could consider asking ShopJimmy as they may be nice and tell you what part it is.

We have had a few of these recently - main problem was the transformer which is a proprietary part - I have sent a PM to th emost recent poster and asked if he still has his board and what is IC901

My eyes are not great but it looks either A6062H or A6069H. Maybe the specsheet will give a clue on it's ratings. I'm thinking the last digit looks more like a 9, maybe someone with eagle eyes can pick it.

Thanks for the help, I should be fine ordering one through digikey. I will get one and try it and see what happens.

I would also check the other components as mentioned previously otherwise
                    it could just blow again.

I was going to check everything out as suggested, and i might order two just in case. I like learning how to troubleshoot componets rather than just replacing boards.

Good work lads, I was sure the bottom was 23AP, but I thought the second line was ST803... I even tried a few filters on Photoshop and it couldnt make it any clearer..

Ah, no. I just find I'm getting plenty of practice decyphering blurred images these days. Most things that size seem blurry to me when I have them right in front of me.

So i took out the power supply and was going to install the new part when i looked on the backside and noticed another bad IC, IC601 (will post picture) Does anybody know what this one is? is it worth trying seeing i already have the other one, or should i just admit defeat and order a new board.

Can you try and clean it with isopropyl alcohol - can you read any numbers on it?

I couldn't see any numbers on it. I look in the service manual but they don't show the power supply. I can try cleaninng it when i get home from work.

Looks like R606 is bad too, so the FET it is attached to probably failed short.

I found other problems on mine and ended up just changing the power supply board. TV works good now.
