    Atec 42" PSU Fault

Hi all this Atec 42” came in stuck in standby.
Shows red light on standby but when you press power button it goes green then goes orange .
But the screen shows no sign of life at all .
Power supply is an IPLV-42 .
No 24v at the inverter plugs (not shorting to ground ).
No 33v on psu to main board (not shorting to ground ).
12v and 5v on the main to psu all shorting to ground .
    Q101 short not yet changed
The short appears to go all the way back to the schottky diodes for the 12v and 5v rails .
Any ideas as to what could cause a complete short like this I don't want to just change parts and blow them .
    Thanks in advance

    Re: Atec 42" PSU Fault

    Hi.

Did you ever fix this problem as I have an Atec 37" with the same fault and same power board?

    Thanks

HP Victus 15-fb dag3pamb8d0 Short on VCORE – How to Confirm CPU Fault?
      by adelfr2009
I have a laptop HP Victus 15-fb with motherboard DAG3PRMB8D0, CPU Ryzen 7535HS, and GPU RTX 2050. The laptop has a power issue: it does not turn on at all, and there is no light on the DC jack.
After inspection, I found that an NMOS near the charger input had a short. I replaced it, but the short remained on the 19V line. I checked the charging circuit and it was fine, but the short appears after the current sense resistor near the charger. The charger does not pass current when connected, so I inject 3V–4V after the sense resistor. No component gets hot, except the CPU which becomes...

450watt power supply 5v, 3.3v short to ground wire,in output rail ,connectors
      by playit
hello everyone , working zebronics power suply 450 watts , 5v ,3.3v givin short to ground black wire, also in circuit at output, resistor was charred but shows right values , after removing resistors 39ohms, 51 ohms, there was no short , no continuity beeps with ground , but after replacing new resistors (now i am not switching it on) ,again short still exists . when i put bigger ohm resistor like 100k ohm , no short beeping sound comes , lower ohm resistor gives continuity beeps ,other big ones donest , as its a working psu , i am confused what to remove now or how to go further now .

Diagnosing short to ground issue. pcb from an e scooter
      by Leefreeman97
Hello, I have a pcb from an e scooter which had a faulty diode but even after removing it from circuit, it still has a short to ground on the three components circled. I have removed every cap on the board and tested one by one and the short is still there and all the caps test ok. Could this be because I haven’t put a diode back on it yet or where do I go next please?

Fault source of a short circuit
      by rumpumpel1
I have a mainboard with a short circuit (approx. 0 Ohm) on the 3.3V rail. As usual, I injected current and observed the mainboard with the thermal camera. Instead of individual components becoming warm, I observed that an area of several square centimeters became evenly warm from approx. 2A.
Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Is it possible that there is a short circuit between two layers of the mainboard? The visual inspection of the mainboard did not reveal any abnormalities....

      820-00840 / No boot / PP3V3_G3H Short to ground
      by MisterAIL
      Hello everyone,

Firstly sorry for my english, french guy inside.

      I brought a macbook pro A1708 - 820-00840 logic board, wasn't powering on.
History is a day, nothing happened when opening the laptop.

Nothing special inside, no corrosion, no liquid damage, never opened.

First, with the logicboard alone on the desk, mesures are :
5v017 and 0.000 amp. nothing else.
Finding a short on the PP3V3_G3H_VR, but not on the PP3V3_G3H (0.540 on diode mode), PPDCIN_G3H_CHGR_R present (5,1 volts) PPVIN_G3H_P3V3G3H around 4.1 volts. PM_EN_P3V3_G3H...
