There's no way it would do 1kV. It's possible a brief pulse is tricking your meter into over-ranging when the autorange occurs. Try setting your meter to 1000V range.

It's on the 1000v setting.

And you're still seeing over 1000V?

You would be right to be afraid, but I would still consider the possibility the meter is defective or in error. Can you try with a second meter?

Yeah, I'll get a new meter and check again.

It was definitely a bad meter. I bought a new meter tonight. My only problem now is that I don't know which voltage listed on the sticker is which. Only Va and Vs are labeled on the sticker.

This one's done. I did more damage than I want to pay to fix. I tried to take a voltage reading on the Z-SUS per the attached image and got careless. I shorted something and , no more picture. It blew one of the fuses on the Y-SUS and now, after replacing the fuse and putting the old Z-SUS board back in, there's still no picture and Vsc and Vy are all over the place. Hopefully, I can get what I paid for the Z-SUS on Craigslist. Oh well, can't win them all.
