I've got a Vizio Plasma with LG internals on my bench right now. It has the PDP42X3 plasma panel in it. I think I have narrowed the problem down to the Y-SUS board. There is one fuse blown on the Y-SUS and the pins on the IC are shorted to ground. My IC is not exactly the same which is why I say I think the Y-SUS is bad.

I have an 42" AKAI something or other with the same panel and the same 6871QYH053B Y-SUS board in the basement that has the input menu flashing on and off repeatedly. I know that the Y-SUS in the AKAI is good and the pins don't show to be shorted using the above test.
Here's my dilemma. If the panel in the Vizio is bad, would it have caused the bad Y-SUS to fry? Will it fry my known good Y-SUS? I only paid $40 for the AKAI and really had no plans for it, but I don't want to fry good boards for no reason. Also, should I swap out the Y-SUS and buffer or just the Y-SUS?
Care to offer any input?
