Need firmware for Magnavox 50" Plasma

This is a bit of a rant as well as a plea for help. I just bought a used Magnavox 50" plasma model #50MF231D/37 with an intermittent problem of sound and picture going off. The TV is about 5 or 6 years old, and the previous owners apparently never did the update. I have learned by the grace of google that the firmware update has resolved all these problems. I found the link to the instructions of the update:

I can not find the download for the update itself. I have contacted Magnavox who tells me to contact Philips who then refers me to Funai. No one can help. I am hoping that someone has saved this file, or at least has a good link to it. Thank you for your time.

What is the chassis code for your TV (it will either be in a box on the model sticker marked "S" or have "chassis" next to it.)

....and i just got off the phone yet again with Magnavox and they informed me that my TV is a Philips Magnavox product, they have a website with no email and a phone that says they do not have any live support......nice.

It might not be necessary to fix the firmware.

Presumably these TVs were sold as working & after some time they stopped working properly? Due to some internal software problem? I have had this happen before. Whilst it doesn't fix the underlying cause, it usually gives the TV a few years extra before it goes wrong again... (and that can be fixed by resetting once more.)

So, I usually try a service reset.

To access service menu:

Use the standard RC-transmitter and key in the code
“062596”, directly followed by the “MENU” button.
Note: It is possible that, together with the SDM, the main
menu will appear. To switch it "off", push the “MENU”
button again.
