It is an old thread was only kicked as pretorif is looking for a schematic

Anyone else reading this see above - pretorif looking for a schematic.
    YEP read the whole thread.

Especially that, the so called transformer that he asked is not transformer but inductor and is part of the PFC Voltage booster circuits, he better check his DC voltage on the main cap to see what he is getting.

You... found... a transformer? Just any old transformer? Put it in and it worked?
That is like saying, my Ford's car engine is broken, but I found an engine from a Toyota, and it worked.

Also circle the one with open winding.
Also pictures of the back side of the board.

What exactly did you mean by this?

How about a clear infocus picture of the bottom of the transformer.
    Try in better light.

    Re: Bad transformer

That is PFC choke which is in series with the MOSFET to ground. You can see the MOSFET and the PFC Diode mounted on the same heatsink as the Main bridge rectifier. It will have only two windings, one is for the PFC booster, another one is for Phase detection (not all PFC uses Phase detection through the winding, so it may have only one winding)).

Looks like varnish to me, nothing to worry about.

What else is in series with the transformer? Other than the MOSFET...

    Re: Bad transformer

This may not be the case, but I saw one youtube video sometime last year where there was a thermal fuse inside the secondary windings of the transformer. Yes, I realize the OP is talking about the primary side in this thread.
