    Hi Guys,

I am looking for info/ availability for a smd transistor marked K2T ,with the marking "S" or "8" and 6. I attach a pic of the transistor. It is from a SMPSU used on a Proscan 32LA30Q, Board no :SBGD-200-3HP

Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated, even a replacement part number will do.

    Hi,
Just some ideas that you can check out:
Did you check the power supply (power brick) for stability and ripple. I've had this problem in the past on Samsung lappy's. Caps go low value and / high esr and power brick is unable to supply correct load to laptop. Also high ripple, because of dried up caps can cause havoc on the laptop.
Carefully clean the Ram modules contacts as well as the slot.
Unplug the DVD writer and see if system is stable
I have also had issues with disk drives , causing system...

  • Re: Soldering Station upgrade, what to look for?

    Hi Digge,
If you want to know more about the JBC range of stations, I would suggest you go over to the Eevblog (Dave Jones's site) and do a search there for JBC. I know some of the members on that site that actually ows and uses JBC equipment. The one guy called "Kibi" do own a station and I am sure he will be able to answer any questions you might have regarding the equipment. I myself can only drool to be able to own such a good station, but every report sofar that I have read was very positve on the JBC Stations....

Hakko FX-888 is a very good value for money. Definately a firm favourate with a lot of people.

Also have a look at the Metcal range and the JBC range of soldering stations. Both are more expensive, but they are both the "Rolls royce" of soldering stations. Very good value and spares are readily available.

  • Re: Someone help me source a soldering station! UK

    Hi,

Why don't you have a look at the ANTEX range of soldering stations. I use the 660 TC station, and can really recomend it as a good all rounder to use for repair and construction. It's a bit more pricey than 100 pounds, but really good quality and you will be buying locally and not some Chinese garbage.

There are different bits available and it's very easy to change to another bit size if needed.Go have a look on their website for more info.

    Regards

    Leon
