Re: compatible inverter with different rev (master slave)

      Hi,
I recently fixed one of these sets for an inverter problem.
The set was just not starting as the master inverter was failing.
I found that the rev 0 inverters where often failing and kits were available
form different sources to fix them (4 MOSFETS, the driver IC BD9897FS and sometimes a zener and capacitors).
In addition to that I found that these inverters were to be replaced by rev 2 who are more reliable. I found a set of modifications to upgrade the original master and slave PCB's.
I fixed the master by replacing the decoupling caps (bulging) and the IC but the rest was OK.
I then applied both modifications ans the set is back alive.

I also found equivalent parts for sale in germany but I did not tried them.

Finally back to your question, both Rev 0 and Rev 2 parts are fulmly compatible, Philips recommends to replace original parts Rev 0 by new Rev 2 cards (both master and slave).

According to your diagnosis, I assume slave card is failing while the master seems to be alive as the left of the screen lights before passing into security mode because the slave is failing.

Here is the adress for replacement PCB's :

Re: compatible inverter with different rev (master slave)

Just an additional information, as far as I remeber, original inverters are 6632L-0470A and 6632L-0471A at rev. 1.2 and they are to be replaced by same parts at Rev. 1.3

LG 42LG3000 Strange fault will not go into standby!
            by cheeky2
I have this LG 42LG3000 Tv which operates on all inputs without any issues whatsoever. However when you try to turn the Tv off the screen goes blank as it would normally however it then turns itself back on again!
So far I have replaced the main board without any resolution to the problem.
When the inverters master and slave VIT71053.54 VIT71053.55 are disconnected from the power supply then the TV will turn off as it should (obviously without any ccfl output).
I have read through a few posts for this model without anyone having this issue as far as I can tell.
            I...

origanlly the backlight would come on and go off in my great ability to repair I hooked up a test light per instructed master side top 6 would only partially light slave side lit test light fine, pulled tv down to bulbs, same bulbs inside only halve lit. seems master inverter at fault tested all transformers all seem fine, pulled top transformer from master double checking test points reinstalled cleaned up all connections noted on back of master center of board dark spot, checked around that area everything on top of board seems fine, resoldered the 0 resistors plugged everything back in turned...

Vizio E55-E1 bad backlights or bad inverter?
            by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...

I picked this TV out of a trash pile. When I plug it in I can hear the relay on the power supply “click” almost immediately, and then 7 seconds later there is another “click” and the power/OPC LEDs start to flash: two pulses on the power LED, one on the OPC LED. I didn't notice any sign of life from the backlight, but more on that below.....

The service manual () says this is a “DET_10V error: UR10V or A9V is not applied”, but after checking several voltages I believe the power unit is tripping off due to an overload as soon as the backlight tries to come on; this kills...
