That's usually a problem with the inverter or CCFL. See al the posts for "2 seconds to black".

That is fairly rare, but is a panel issue. More common is this (#1 and #2 attached.)

Notice there is a pixel line in the middle of the bars. This is definitely a bad panel. If the bar is completely black, then there is a chance it is just C board or loose connector. Black bar with line is more common on Panasonic; Samsung and LG tend to get single stuck lines instead.

In #3, you can see an image in the faulty bar, but the bar is pink coloured. This is 99.5% a loose connector or C board issue. Panel failure causing this is very rare.

I think $200 is more like "I want a cheap TV for basement/bedroom and can live with the line" not "it's for repair"?

Re: My guide to buying Non-Working LCD & Plasma TV's

I know this is an very old thread but I did find it useful. I had to replace a non working TV with a new one for a lady down the street. I got down there and was removing the old one, dam thing was heavy.

When I was done she asked me if I wanted the old one. I figured I would part it out. After a few days just sitting there outside on a cart, I decided to take a look at it. Its a 58" Panasonic Viera Plasma TV th-58pz700 with a 6 blink code. The TV looks brand new for free I cant beat it, if I can repair it for under 58 bucks, (58x1.00=58.00)

I should have charged her for removing, it very heavy

Plasmas and LCDs have very low resale value and are around the 10 year age mark. I wont touch any plasmas at all or LCD bigger than 46 inches because of the weight. If I can get a 40 or 46 inch LCD for free and can use up some of my capacitor inventory, I can resell for $60 or $80. If it has a bad board , then it"s break even. If it has bad lamps, its not worth repairing.

                  by SMDFlea
Here`s a quick ME Firmware cleaning guide.

The guide is basic, its main goal is to show you how to use intel FIT,its highly recommended that you all follow the guide posted at win-raid

(The attached FIT version is 11, if your ME Firmware (FW) is not 11.0.*.* follow the win-raid guide. Use the tools version for your ME FW, for example: ME System Tools v9.1 For systems running ME v9.0 - v9.1)

A video, software (intel FIT) and practice bios are all included. I`ll post a better video and more advanced guide at a later date.

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
                  by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

                  Hello,
I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
                  a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
                  c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.
How to confirm Y -Buffer board...

                  LG 60PS11-UA 60-inch 1080p Plasma TV-service lit & video help needed
                  by chazh
This is my first posting, so forgive me everyone in advance if I made mistake(s) in my posting.

I know there have been much about this plama tv already and I have read through most what I could find. However; I still have not come across any service lit/schematics for this tv. I even looked for the 50PS11 which would be basically relevant other than display size. Anyone know to find the documentation would greatly be appreciated.

The set that I have has issues with lower third of screen being dimmer than the above portion. From my past experiences with tube, solid state,...
