    Samsung LN-T3242H

it's got a very "washed out" picture, like the luminence is up too high. the picture is normal for about the first 5 seconds it's turned on from stone cold. if it's the least bit warm, it starts up with the problem happening.

i've freeze sprayed every component i can find, to no avail.

sorry about the no pictures, but of course, i'm in one place and my card reader is in another. hopefully, tonight i can post some.

i do have the service manual, but so far it hasn't helped me.

Please can you update your profile with country and mains voltage.

Initial thing to check would be the cables to the panel. Any that are removable, remoe clean and reseat.
      Have you tried different sources.
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

        thanks for the reply, selldoor.
as you can now see, i've updated my profile.
i've tried component input, with the same result.
i'll try to find the panel connectors, clean and reseat them.
the picture does seem to improve somewhat if i whack the side of the t.v.

Likely a bad connection or solder joint.

It is true that hitting things sometimes fixes them

selldoor - there were 2 ribbon cables that led from a small board (referred to in the service literature as LVDS or LDVS) to 2 smaller circuit boards that seem to connect directly to the lcd panel.

i took off the cables, cleaned them and reinstalled them. no effect.

i'm afraid to remove the small boards that connect to the panel. don't want to screw things up. do you think it will be safe to do?

ben7 - i'm a tech, but i'm not really familiar with lcd tv's. it doesn't "feel" like a bad solder joint.
and my mother says i'll need glasses someday if i keep whacking it.

              Re: Samsung LN-T3242H

I have the problem posted in this thread. The images are just like mine. I have checked the capacitors and unplugged and replugged the cables with no effect. I think I need to replace the power board. the part number is BN4400192, I can find this part number with an "A" or "B" on the end but my board does not have either. What do the A and B mean?

Please provide clear pictures of your boards including close shots of each connector from the PSU.

Have you done any testing yet?

I'd think more or less a gamma issue within the AS15 processor on the tcon board. Qouks need to confirm voltages
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Yeah was thinking it might have the AS15 in it.

I'd try a tcon, if you can get one reasonable, if it don't work, you can rule it out and you'll have a spare, thats if the one you buy is good.
