Hi folks I have a LG32LC56 which originally had blown caps on the secondary of the power supply (eay38639701) which were causing it to not power up.
These have been replaced by the owner, solving that issue.
Unfortunately a new fault has develpoed, it has backlights and picture for approximately 5 minutes then loss of picture and a dim glowing screen.
No menus are available.
I can see the backlights are still on in this condition with the back off the set.
Turning it off with the remote and then on again doesnt solve the problem, only pulling the plug and restarting after a few minutes.
I am kind of thinking this is a overheating issue on the power board, and I do find a (relative) hot spot amongst the secondary caps with an IR temp detector, showing it rising to 45 deg C before it goes into the fault condition, but I am only testing this from the component side of the board not the solder side so maybe its hotter there.
I have tested all the voltages on the outputs and they seem correct in both working mode AND in the fault mode.
One of the pins is labelled ERR and it has around 5 volts on it in both conditions.
This worries me as Im wondering if this is showing a fault on the mainboard.
Anyone know what this pin should read?
Im presuming it should be 0v.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
