Got a Panasonic given to me, traced the problem to a shorted 2PG002 transistor and a questionable MA3DF30 diode. I've spent the day on and off looking for parts. Anywhere in the States to get these? I don't feel like waiting for a slow boat from Japan.

Re: Replacement plasma TV semiconductors?
Yeah I'd like to know too. If you can work out what values to load into this
http://alltransistors.com/igbt/crsea...f=&caps=to220f
Maybe you can find a sub?

Re: Replacement plasma TV semiconductors?
Yepper, already have the data sheets and know what the parts are. The problem is finding a vendor that ain't in China. I may have to resort to hitting the US semiconductor mfgs and see if I can match them up. Thanks for the help though. I used to repair TVs many moons ago. It was hard to troubleshoot them, easy to find parts. Now it's easy to troubleshoot, hard to find parts lol. I damn sure ain't gonna spend 80 or more bucks for a board. It'll go in the scrap pile first. I'm just not up on new TVs and thinking the parts may be a little more critical. I guess nobody knows how to troubleshoot at the board level anymore.

The only boards i've had heaps of success and cheap are some samsung ymains.
i have purchased some bits from china with success but it's risky.

Re: Replacement plasma TV semiconductors?
The full part number for the transistor is 2PG0020000RP. There is one seller on ebay selling what look to be pulls. You can have them special ordered through partstore.com and possibly encompassparts.com. I can't find the diode but the one listed on Encompass is MA3DF40000LZ and may be suitable for what you need. This is also available through partstore.com and Encompass as a special order it would seem.

@Randek. Having also worked in Industrial Electronics for the last 40+ years, I've seen many techs who couldn't troubleshoot at component level simply because they never had the experience. It's more economical to swap boards. Let's face it. 4 years in tech school really teaches you nothing. The learning comes working in the field. Consider yourself one of those special people who can. Didn't mean to ruffle feathers in here. I'm just a tired old fart who still likes to tinker.

To anyone interested, with the help of Rayrod, I stumbled upon a bestbuy parts site. Prices are reasonable too. My particular parts are out of stock though.
