Sansui SV-320LCD

Takes a little while to come on - standby light [red] flashes a few times and remains red.
Takes a minute or less to warm up and fire correctly, working fine afterwards.
Some nasty cap in the power supply, I would guess.
Already tried the hairdryer and quick freeze on the power supply board and caps, but it doesn't seem to work noticeably.
Maybe some here had this problem before and could offer some help, thanks.

Hmmm...I glanced at the service manual and it looks like a TV that Insignia and Proview have used before.
Does the back of the TV have a central section with a really big screw (and prob 2 other ones) that comes off to a metal cover which once removed, you have access to main and power supply? (Pictures may help too using manage attachments feature)
But anyways, some of those TVs have megmeet psu's which have caps under the heatsinks; those may be blown.

First inspection I did was on the PS caps and found nothing suspicious.
This set has been tampered with [or butchered] as you can see by one of the heat-sink plates now used [see picture].

If you have it, could you kindly post a picture of the PS diagram, I wonder?

I am still weary of those caps; do you have an ESR meter by chance?

Unfortunately not, have to remove caps to test them...

I will ask the customer to take the set as it is now and bring it back when it is worse - perhaps in winter [here in Johannesburg].
