Re: Sansui SV-PD403
Thank you.
This youtube video suggests it could be a thermal fuse under the switch mode power transformer.
Going to investigate it.
[Diagram, unfortunately, not clear enough to read values]|

Re: Sansui SV-PD403
I've been looking for the service diagram, but so far no luck.
Does anybody have it?

Re: Sansui SV-PD403
I do, and already checked the high wattage ones, they are OK.
Didn't find any fuse ones, couldn't find any.
The power can only come on after the two relays are activated.
Could I bridge them to see if I get power?...

Re: Sansui SV-PD403
They both read zero volts at switching on.
I only get one of the 5 volts, nothing else.

OK, here are three new pictures of Power Supply board - one taken on its length, the other two half of its height each....

Re: Sansui SV-PD403
Only found two, OK - one in the mains entrance and another round one on the PS.
Are there more?
Something is not helping the two mains relays [for AC] to close and "fire" the set.Last edited by burntfingers; 12-22-2015, 08:39 AM.

Sansui SV-PD403
Set does not turn on.
When pressed, Standby light flashes blue some six or seven times and returns to yellow.
Nothing else happens.
Checked for dry joints, bad caps, plugs, visually there's nothing wrong.
Can't find the diagram, also.
Y and X boards look good.
Tried to unplug some power plugs, nothing.
Have you had this set here before?...

Re: MacBook Pro
Oh, OK.
How silly of me! LOL!
It's funny, it looked like a speaker...!
Anyway, thanks, and apologies for the silly question, lol, ridiculous of me.
[Is it not supposed to have two speakers, though...?]Last edited by burntfingers; 12-20-2015, 11:23 PM.

MacBook Pro
Opened the back to inspect [curiosity only] and was intrigued with that rubber round piece next to the processor fan.
What is that?...

Re: Telefunken TLCD-26J
Well, after testing each of the six pairs of lamps - by replacing them with a good pair from another set - none revealed a fault.
I concluded it is the converters board.
Sadly, there are no spares for this set here anymore.

OK, thanks; I will also do that this morning [Johannesburg time, here :-) ]...

Re: Telefunken TLCD-26J
OK, thanks.
Supplies are stable.
I also checked for sparking noise in the lamps or smelling [without stripping the assembly], but so far noticed nothing.
Using freeze didn't reveal anything wrong in the power board.
You might be right with one faulty lamp - sometime ago I had to replace a bad one that would trigger protection and shut off the lot.
Thanks again for the tip.

Re: Telefunken TLCD-26J
Thought about that, actually, but would one faulty one affect the other five?
I even thought about disconnecting one and see if the other five would go.
What do you think?

Telefunken TLCD-26J
On this old set, the six screen lights start flickering about four times a second, after 5 minutes on.
Already checked power supply for dry joints, swollen caps, used lectro freeze on caps - replaced a suspicious one - but problem persists.
Picture and sound normal....

Re: Hisense LCD 32W58
No, it was not touched before - this was its first fault.
I already found the culprit - the regulator transistor UP5, to the left of the panel, with AQU913 printed, don't know what that means - see picture.
In any case, panel will have to be replaced, I think, and I already contacted agent - waiting for price and availability.
Thanks very much for your clue.

Re: Hisense LCD 32W58
Yes, fuse on t-con panel blown up; bridged it and gone again [had ribbon cables disconnected - as per picture]....

OK, thanks; appreciated.
Going to check what I can, and come back.

Re: Hisense LCD 32W58
There is nothing on screen, no menu, no stations, no sound too.
It is dead, except that it reflects a little light from the screen lamps.
Didn't check the fuse.

Hisense LCD 32W58
Supplies OK, screen lights on, screen working, but no signal, no menu.
I don't want to tell customer it is the expensive signals board - is it?...
